Writing 101 – Day 4 : An Image’s Story

unnamed2

If a picture paint a thousand words, then this picture paint a thousand of different stories.

Image of City at Night, the city lights often brings a mellow feeling and a thousand imagination to my mind.

When you’re passing through a busy street or when your flight finally ready to land, and you saw the lights below you, do you also think that each of those light are representing a family? a single person? a couple?

Does the owner of each of those light have a good day?

Are they enjoying dinner with their love one?

Are they still waiting for their love one to come home?

Are they still looking for the one?

Are they happy? Are they sad?

Same when you saw busy street at night, where are these people heading out to?

Are they in a hurry? Are they just wandering around?

Do you think among the people in those lights, there’s anyone out there who look the same sight as you and and thinking exactly what you are thinking?

These kind of thoughts usually appear on my mind when I saw city at night/city light. 🙂

I hope I’m not being creepy..

The Secret of W101

Ahh I was almost giving up making this post, it was kind of long and tiring day for me in real life but I can’t seem to put my mind on rest knowing I still haven’t post today’s assignment from Writing 101 class.

So, I’ll make a quick post regarding the one word prompt. Given all the choices sent, I feel that Secret was the most fascinating word of them all.

Everyone has a secret, or 10.

I have a secret, you have a secret, I’m sure even my parents both have a secret they don’t even tell each other.

I think most of my ‘secrets’ are made to be secret because I feel like they will make me vulnerable. It can do damage to the sensitive insecure part of me. And I don’t want pity from other people nor do I want people to think I’m weirder than I am now.

But I can accept those secret as part of me, special part of me that is just for me. My own space in myself.

Was this that make secrets so special?
That some people going out their way to protect their secret?

Because it’s like the most basicest out of basic right to have a secret?

What do you think?

Oh, and good night for now! X

Vamps shares her world – Week 36

It’s time for Cee’s Share Your World again! Week #36, time flies!

Before I realized, everyone in facebook is already starting to countdown to Christmas! Haha

Okay, so this week questions,

If you were a pen, what type, style and color would you be?

Pen… I’d probably will be a pen called “Standard AE7” with 0.5 tip!

They are my favourite, so comfortable to write and they last long too 😀

Funny thing is, I came from a small town called Magetan and license plat for cars in Magetan is started with AE.

How many languages do you you speak?

I speak fluent Indonesian, Javanese (informal), Suroboyoan (we kind of mix Indonesian, informal Javanese and Surabaya dialect language in Suroboyoan), and English.

I am currently learning Japanese, hopefully I will be fluent in Japanese in the future!

I speak a little Chinese (but to be honest, it’s fading away…..)

I can speak a little Korean (and read some Hangul too, but not fluent)

Javanese language is categorized as 3, informal (which is used in daily lives, sometimes often thought as “rude”),  formal (mostly used by older people, younger people nowadays choose to use Indonesian instead) , and polite (which not very often used). When people speak formal Javanese language to me, most of the time I can understand what they are saying, but somehow it is very hard for me to reply in the same language, my mind usually goes blank so I replied using Indonesian instead of I met people who’s talking to me using formal Javanese.

Are you a listener or talker?

I can be both, depend on the situation.

But I can only be a talker comfortably around people I’m close and comfortable with. If I’m surrounded by a lot of strangers or even people I know but not too close, I usually be a listener.

Rather Have:  Which would you rather have, 2 million dollars or true love?

Since I haven’t met my true love, I’d love to have true love for now. Maybe then both of us can try to get that 2 million dollars later 😉

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful for making my first sales on my newly set-up online store in one of Indonesian famous online market.

I am grateful that my Japanese class went well and even my Japanese exam yesterday went okay, not too bad.

I am grateful that I get to know more people in wordpress.

I am grateful that I get to meet my friends from university for a dinner last Friday, it has been few months since we all gather together. Even  2 of them who are married brings their s/o and children!

For next week, I don’t have anything particular I’m looking forward to. Just gonna enjoy what’s coming up next! 🙂

Writing 101 – Day 2. The List.

Hi again everyone!

I’m so happy reading a lot if people’s post on the Day 1 assignment yesterday, and even though it’s already a bit late in my place (local time), time to submit the 2nd day assignment.

Day 2 of Writing 101 class. Making a list.

I may be sound repeating myself from yesterday assignment but I did introduce myself on my blog before these B101 and W101 classes started using a list! What a coincidence! Fate? 😉

Okay, so for today’s assignment, given the choices of list in the email we received, I’d like to choose,

Things I like

  • Smell of the earth after/during the rain
  • Smell of fresh coffee in the early morning
  • Smell of new books when you open them for the first time (bookworm alert!!)
  • Warm shower after long day at work
  • The B*dy Sh*p Japanese Cherry Blossom series (this is not an advertising!!)
  • Taking random photos when I go travelling
  • Spicy food!! and Spaghetti, of course, I can’t not to mention this.
  • Streaming movies online (oops)
  • Doraemon
  • Chatting with my Chelsea online friends, or just even sometimes I’d be a silent reader on their conversation in our chat room during the match (I’m not being creepy, but sometimes I just enjoy reading and let the conversation flow without intention of joining in, weird isn’t it?)
  • Spending lazy weekend at home
  • Sweet warm jasmine tea
  • Listening to Tohoshinki’s ballad songs (I can make another list of songs recommendation for this like seriously!)
  • Watermelon. Lots of them. Fresh watermelon or watermelon juice I love them both.
  • The colour of Blue. I like blue and I look good wearing blue clothes. I like Blue at first because of Chelsea, I still do, maybe still because of the same reason, but I like blue. Blue is the colour.
  • Stopping a list at (not-so) random number. This time it’s #16. 😉

Why do I write?

I’m writing this post as part of the Writing 101.

This is the first topic. “I write because…”

so..

I write because..

Honestly I don’t know.

I love reading, and I always admire people who are creative enough to write.

Maybe I write because I’m so jealous of them and I want to be “one of those people who can write”

Maybe I write because I need something to express my mind

Maybe I write because I want to share something to someone, with the hope that my writing is good enough, because being a reader myself, I know someone else’s stories that I can relate too, someone else’s stories that inspire me and that I want to give back those encouragement for a change.

And maybe I write, because deep down, I just want to write. 🙂

This is actually such a deep question for people who are still new and wandering around in writing world.

Vamps’ Share Your World – 2015 Week # 35

I came across with Cee’s blog and found out that there are so many challenges or I should call it “regular events” that I am so interested in joining. I had joined Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge here and this time, I am tempted to join her Share Your World challenge.

To be honest, when I read the title Share Your World, it reminds me of one of Tohoshinki’s song Share The World. I am a TVXQ fan (Tohoshinki is their name in Japan) so it’s only apt if I include this video on my post.

If you are an anime fan, you might recognize this song as One Piece OST 😉

What made you feel good this week?

I’m writing this on a Tuesday and so far nothing unpleasant happened in my week, which also mean nothing too exciting happen either. Work is monotonous, the work atmosphere is good as usual.

If we count week starting on Monday, the most time I’m enjoying so far is my Japanese language class. I am so into learning this language that I love every minute I spent in my classes. We re-viewed last week class, we learn some new kana (Japanese alphabet) and new grammar.

However, if we count one week back, there’s this simple gesture of care from a friend that touched me the most.

I am not sure if I can share too many details in public blog, considering that this friend is a very private person, I won’t share much on here. But overall, it’s probably the one that made me feel best in the last week(end). 😀

For potlucks or parties do you cook it yourself, buy from a grocery store, or pay for catering?

Well, potlucks is actually not very popular in Indonesia. However, our office sometimes have this “rujakan” – Rujak is like salad with sweet peanut sauce (sometimes spicy sweet peanut sauce) which consist of fruits, friend tofu, crackers and sometimes few select vegetable (usually cucumber).

2 weeks ago, we have rujakan at work and I brought fried tofu. I prefer to prepared it myself rather than buy it on street vendor. I quite like cooking, and if we have potlucks (me and my work colleagues have been talking the possibilities of doing this) most certainly I would prefer to cook myself. 🙂

What is your favorite part of the town/city you live in.  And what Country do you live?

I live in Surabaya, it’s the 2nd largest city in Indonesia so it is pretty crowded. I used to go to University in West Surabaya area and after I finished my university, I move to South area which is less crowded.

Traffic wise, I can say I prefer the south area, but entertainment wise, I can say that west area has far more options. But… if I had to choose my favourite part of the city…. I’m not sure I have any.

However, I have once joining a “city tour” held by a local church (I’m not a Christian and this is certainly not my church, I was invited by a friend and it turned out to be a fun event), and on this mini tour, we have a chance to visit a navy base and their museum and it enable me to saw this grand view.

Best sunset I’ve ever seen in Surabaya. and yes, that’s navy’s ship right there 🙂

Complete this sentence:  My favorite place in the whole world…..

My room. Alone. And at home with my family.

I’m not a hermit, I do enjoy going out, but I like it best when I’m alone in my room. Sometimes I feel like outside world are just to noisy and solitary can give me some peace and I always enjoy accompany of myself.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

hmmm.. from last week..

well, the care gesture from my friend last weekend, I was grateful for. Also, we celebrated 2 colleagues birthday at work last week. It was another fun day at work that I thoroughly enjoyed!

I don’t particularly looking forward to anything this week or next week, but I will be going home for a long weekend in the next 3 weeks!! :)))
