The Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge – Attempted Monochromic

Well, I have never actually tried to take a monochrome photo before, and I’m currently digging my old archive to find if I have “suitable” photos or not.

So, here’s my attempted monochrome photos (I must apologize that I have previously put a watermark in one of them)…

This one, I took when I went to Malang, a town near Surabaya. We were walking through on a theme park and I look up and saw these tree branches and so I took a snap.

This one is taken in Tanah Lot, Bali. Probably one of my most favourite places on earth 🙂

I hope you enjoy!

Cee’s Fun Photo Challenge – Sense of Touch

When I first read the “Sense of Touch” part, the first thing that came into my simple mind is hand..

Hence, this picture exist..

rough hands of mine.

then, the next morning, when I was waiting for our company car to pick me up for work, – I was waiting in a close by store that build a simple rooftop for their customer’s motorcycle to park to – this sight caught my eyes…

so, the photo above complete my initial idea of Sense of touching – which is a net safety vest I have at work

I hope you all enjoy my entry this week!

Bonus photo:

  1. The original safety vest.

2. I took a pic of the vest from another angle, and when I playfully edit the tone, it turns out like this. 😀

Vamps’ Share Your World – 2015 Week # 35

I came across with Cee’s blog and found out that there are so many challenges or I should call it “regular events” that I am so interested in joining. I had joined Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge here and this time, I am tempted to join her Share Your World challenge.

To be honest, when I read the title Share Your World, it reminds me of one of Tohoshinki’s song Share The World. I am a TVXQ fan (Tohoshinki is their name in Japan) so it’s only apt if I include this video on my post.

If you are an anime fan, you might recognize this song as One Piece OST 😉

What made you feel good this week?

I’m writing this on a Tuesday and so far nothing unpleasant happened in my week, which also mean nothing too exciting happen either. Work is monotonous, the work atmosphere is good as usual.

If we count week starting on Monday, the most time I’m enjoying so far is my Japanese language class. I am so into learning this language that I love every minute I spent in my classes. We re-viewed last week class, we learn some new kana (Japanese alphabet) and new grammar.

However, if we count one week back, there’s this simple gesture of care from a friend that touched me the most.

I am not sure if I can share too many details in public blog, considering that this friend is a very private person, I won’t share much on here. But overall, it’s probably the one that made me feel best in the last week(end). 😀

For potlucks or parties do you cook it yourself, buy from a grocery store, or pay for catering?

Well, potlucks is actually not very popular in Indonesia. However, our office sometimes have this “rujakan” – Rujak is like salad with sweet peanut sauce (sometimes spicy sweet peanut sauce) which consist of fruits, friend tofu, crackers and sometimes few select vegetable (usually cucumber).

2 weeks ago, we have rujakan at work and I brought fried tofu. I prefer to prepared it myself rather than buy it on street vendor. I quite like cooking, and if we have potlucks (me and my work colleagues have been talking the possibilities of doing this) most certainly I would prefer to cook myself. 🙂

What is your favorite part of the town/city you live in.  And what Country do you live?

I live in Surabaya, it’s the 2nd largest city in Indonesia so it is pretty crowded. I used to go to University in West Surabaya area and after I finished my university, I move to South area which is less crowded.

Traffic wise, I can say I prefer the south area, but entertainment wise, I can say that west area has far more options. But… if I had to choose my favourite part of the city…. I’m not sure I have any.

However, I have once joining a “city tour” held by a local church (I’m not a Christian and this is certainly not my church, I was invited by a friend and it turned out to be a fun event), and on this mini tour, we have a chance to visit a navy base and their museum and it enable me to saw this grand view.

Best sunset I’ve ever seen in Surabaya. and yes, that’s navy’s ship right there 🙂

Complete this sentence:  My favorite place in the whole world…..

My room. Alone. And at home with my family.

I’m not a hermit, I do enjoy going out, but I like it best when I’m alone in my room. Sometimes I feel like outside world are just to noisy and solitary can give me some peace and I always enjoy accompany of myself.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

hmmm.. from last week..

well, the care gesture from my friend last weekend, I was grateful for. Also, we celebrated 2 colleagues birthday at work last week. It was another fun day at work that I thoroughly enjoyed!

I don’t particularly looking forward to anything this week or next week, but I will be going home for a long weekend in the next 3 weeks!! :)))

Cee’s Which Way Challenge – It’s a long long journey, till I find my way home to you~

Some of my favourite pictures of the roads.

I’m not professional photographer so most of my pictures are taken using my phone’s camera! >.<

  1. I took this picture on the way back from my hometown to the city I work right now. My hometown is a small town so the environment are mostly still green.

2. These 2 pictures were taken (on different day) during my journey back from work. I’m on the passenger seat so I can take photo without causing any potential harm.

3. This was also taken on my way home from work, in a highway. The dusk and the lights were making such a beautiful combination.
